Top Women in Security ASEAN Region, Malaysia

Recognising her contributions and leadership within the security sector.

Named among the Top 30 finalists across the ASEAN region and selected as winner of the ASEAN Country Award for Malaysia. The awards are organised by MySecurity Media and WISECRA.

The Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain, followed with a letter of appreciation dated 14 October 2024, recognising an achievement that raised the standing of the Royal Malaysia Police internationally.

ICON PDRM

Pioneer of the Official PDRM Facebook Page

The Royal Malaysia Police recognises her as an ICON PDRM for pioneering its first official Facebook page, launched on 21 September 2010.

She administered the page and grew it to about one million followers before moving to a new posting, and wrote the PDRM Facebook Administration Guidelines used by page administrators across Malaysia. The page now has 2.7 million followers.

Work That Earned Recognition

OPPA, Malaysia’s First Scam-Awareness Film

She led the production of OPPA (Dream Film Sdn. Bhd., 2023), a pioneering film that combines entertainment and education to strengthen cybercrime literacy and help the public recognise and avoid scams.

OPPA is listed in the Malaysia Book of Records as the country’s first scam-awareness movie, and its awareness tour reached 17,331 people across 90 events. After her panel appearances at the 1st Anti-Scam Asia Summit and the SAFE seminar, the President of the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) asked to share the OPPA trailer and the anti-scam song with other countries.

  • Be Smart, Stay Alert

    A scam-awareness song created with a local composer, using entertainment to carry crime-prevention messages to every part of the community. Its lyrics are in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin, English and Tamil.

  • Scam Alerts with Whoscall

    She led the strategic collaboration between the Royal Malaysia Police and Whoscall, under which numbers used by scammers are shown to app users as “Scammer (verified by PDRM)”. A related collaboration with Pos Malaysia, launched on 12 August 2024, encouraged the public to install the app free of charge.

  • TIER Rating Model

    In 2012 she developed an internal performance model for state Criminal Investigation Department chiefs, strengthening governance, operational effectiveness and the monitoring of key performance indicators. The work was acknowledged with a letter of appreciation.
